Week in the Life 2019 :: Thursday Words + Photos

posted in: Week in the Life™ | 0

Sorry for the delay in posting the rest of my words and photos from Week in the Life. I bit off more than I was able to chew with posting every day and trying to edit photos during the content collection week was just too much. So I inevitably fell behind and intended to catch up last week, but I was traveling and then got sick with a nasty head cold. I plan to share the last half of the week over the next few days before I begin putting my album together (hopefully) this weekend.

For Thursday’s story lens I chose to focus on gratitude. I have documented at least one gratitude for each day of the week, but I wanted to use this lens to focus on gratitude for a full day.

I’m thankful to be able to shift our first meeting a bit later to be able to sleep in a little this morning. I am so tired this week and just struggling to get up in the mornings.

I’m thankful for some family snuggles after my morning yoga session. These two partners of mine are such good snugglers (except when they start snoring)!

I’m thankful for a wee bit of weight lost this week at my weigh-in. Only a pound or so but it’s making me feel good about my efforts this week. It’s only one factor, but it’s still nice when losses happen, which hasn’t been very often the last few weeks.

I’m thankful for many healthy new habits: yoga, new food choices, trying entirely new foods, water aerobics, walking, eliminating soda and potato chips, drinking tons of water every day, and more. I need to remember more often that I’ve made lasting changes and I’m doing awesome!

I’m thankful to be married to a man with a kind soul. While we were getting gas this morning, a woman approached him to say that she was stranded on E and her gas light has been on for a couple of days but she has no money for gas. He offered to pay for a few dollars of gas to tie her over. He’s so generous.

I’m thankful to work with my husband and to have flexibility in my job. Our first meeting today was with each other, so we held our meeting in the car on the drive to the hospital to visit his cousin, continued it from the hospital to the office, then wrapped up a final piece when we arrived at work. Also thankful for the technology that allows us to do all of this via devices we hold in the palm of our hands.

I’m thankful that Ruby is so entertaining! Today she was fly-hunting at work, then moved her whole bed off her cot into the middle of the floor and fell asleep so hard. So grateful for this little weirdo of ours!

I’m thankful for Get to Work Book! The best planner I’ve used to help me organize my tasks and thoughts and be productive. I’m on my third one at work, just received the next one that begins in July, and bought one to use at home this year. I love it and I’m thankful for Elise Cripe who created it!

I’m thankful for a full life that keeps me busy! But man am I beat today. I appreciate the elements of my life that make it rich and full but they are wearing me down this week.

I’m thankful that our administration of surveys in our youth programs is done for the semester! Always feels good to get them wrapped up and then get ready review and analyze all the data in a few weeks.

I’m thankful tomorrow is Friday! And today is like our Friday at work since we won’t be in the office tomorrow.

I’m thankful for blasting Guns & Roses “Patience” on the radio on our way across town.

I’m thankful for a partner I can be proud of. Shawn presented at the Henderson Hopkins Community Meeting tonight and did an awesome job! I’m so proud of him and the way he steps up to these challenges.

I’m thankful for a quiet, restful evening at home. It was just what I needed. Watching This is Us and a few sitcoms (Superstore and Big Bang Theory), catching up on photo editing and blog writing, and just chilling.

I’m thankful again, for a caring, kind husband. Tonight Shawn went to check on his grandmother, who we heard is feeling sick and has a gross sore throat. He took them food and some cold meds and once he got there and saw how bad off she is, really tried to get her to go to urgent care with him. She didn’t agree to go tonight, so he is going back tomorrow. I hope she goes and gets some meds and gets better.

I’m thankful to share really small heart-warming, special moments with Shawn. Today it was things like hearing him talk about his favorite street in Baltimore, jamming to G&R in the car with the windows down, the way he holds my hand when he drives, and him bringing me Oreos and orange slices from Pop Pop.

I’m thankful for this little family of ours. We are all truly soulmates and meant to be together.
